WOMEN'S BOWLING DOMINATES AT PENNSYLVANIA CLASSIC

LANCASTER, Pennsylvania — The UMES Women's bowling team won big at the Pennsylvania Classic in Lancaster, Pennsylvania this weekend. The Lady Hawks finished 500 pins above Shippensburg University, the second place women's team.

Freshman Jessica Worsley led the women's field with 2021 pins for 9 games, averaging 224.5 for the weekend, followed by senior Sandra Maresca shooting 1936 pins and averaging 215.1. The rest of the Lady Hawks faired well with Megan Raymond averaging 211.8, Ariel Givens averaging 200, MaryEtta Lewis, 195 and Erin Fagan, 197.

Maresca earned honors by shooting the first place high game of 269 and second place three game series of 697. Worsley won first place individual for her 2021 pins.

The Lady Hawks improved their NCAA record to 33-4, with the two losses this weekend going to Howard University.
