HAWKS DEFEATED BY MORGAN STATE 7-0

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. -- Playing in their first of three straight home matches, the University of Maryland Eastern Shore was defeated by Morgan State 7-0, with the Bears winning all nine contests. The Hawks fall to 1-7 on the year and 0-2 in conference play.

Malcolm Johnson (Silver Spring, Md.) nearly earned a victory in the five-spot, but fell in three sets 2-6, 6-2, 2-6 to James Lee.

Dorian Thomas (Mitchellville, Md.) won a pair of games in each set against opponent Dimitag Chekhlatyy, but lost 2-6, 2-6.

Johnson and Thomas combined to have the strongest showing in doubles play for the Hawks, getting two games in defeat 2-8 to the team of Duwane Thomas and Jannick Tash.

The Hawks will stay on the court for Coppin State on Monday in Princess Anne.
