PRINCESS ANNE, Md. - For the first time this year, fans were introduced to the 2014-15 men's and women's basketball teams at the fifth annual Hawk Hysteria. Before a packed crowd, the UMES women's bowling team was also presented with their 2014 MEAC Championship rings, dancing groups, contests and giveaways also peppered the festivities.

The night featured several different dance teams that performed and many former Hawk basketball alumns were honored. Harry T. Hawk celebrated his seventh birthday with several friends including The Hardee Star (Hardees), Sherman the Shorebird (Delmarva Shorebirds), Scoop (Sweet Frog) and The Cow (Chick-Fil-A), but due to him competing in the College Court Report Mascot Mayhem, Harry had to leave for training. In his place, the crowd at Hawk Hysteria was introduced to Harry's nephew, HH3, so Harry could ensure keeping Hawk Pride alive.

The volleyball team began the action with a 3-0 victory over Norfolk State University. The women were led by Ksenia Sukhareva (Moscow, Russia) with eight kills, while Allison Woods (Magnolia, Tex.) and Sonia Rosales (Victorville, Calif.) had double figures for digs, with 14 and 10, respectively. Alana Polk (Houston, Tex.) led the team in total blocks with six.

A skills challenge featuring three members of the men's and women's basketball team was featured to kick off the basketball portion of the night, where the men barely beat out the women in the timed competition. Following the skills challenge, both basketball teams were each introduced one-by-one and participated in seven minute running clock scrimmages.

The women's basketball game featured great play from Shawnee Sweeney (Chester, Va.), Moengaroa Subritzky (Auckland, New Zealand), Mariah McCoy (Rock Hill, S.C.) and Shauntesha Bryant (Syracuse, N.Y.).

For the men, Dominique Elliott (Savannah, Ga.), Iman Johnson (Milwaukee, Wisc.), Mike Myers (Camden, N.J.) and William Tibbs (Winston-Salem, N.C.) all wowed the crowd with spectacular dunks and Devon Walker drained several three-pointers.
