BALTIMOREÂ -- The University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) Men's Tennis Team faced conference foe, the Morgan State Bears, across the bridge. As a result, the Bears were too much as the Hawk fell, 7-0. With the loss, UMES moved to 0-6 (0-3 MEAC) whereas the Bears improved to 4-10 (4-0 MEAC) on the season.
In doubles play, both Hawk squads lost, 8-0, respectively. In singles, UMES' No. 1 Michael Cha (Seoul, Korea) was unable to keep up with MSU's Evan Ward as he fell in straight sets (6-0, 6-0). Nicholas Brobst, Devin Outten, and Edwin Kanu also dropped their matches to the identical score (6-0, 6-0).
Tomorrow (04/08), the Hawks goes to New York City to meet St. Francis (N.Y.) in nonconference action. Match begins at 1 p.m.
