Seraus Named to MEAC All-Tournament Team

CHESAPEAKE, Virginia- Maryland Eastern Shore senior bowler Thashaina Seraus (Oranjestad, Aruba) was named to the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) All-Tournament Team for the 2016 Bowling Championships, as announced on Sunday after the tournament's conclusion.

Seraus competed in the Championships from the anchor spot, just as she had all season long. After helping the Hawks go 3-1 on the first day to earn the #2 seed, the native of Aruba was instrumental in staving off elimination following an early Saturday loss to Morgan State. The Hawks would go on to defeat and eliminate North Carolina A&T then got their revenge over Morgan State.

The senior was the finishing touch in the first of two games against Norfolk State, with the Hawks needing two wins to reach Championship Sunday. However, despite the efforts of Seraus late in the final game, the Spartans defeated Maryland Eastern Shore to advance to the finals.

The Hawks finished in third place as a team during the Championships. Delaware State won their first title since 2010.

Maryland Eastern Shore hits the lanes again in April, either in New Jersey at the NCAA Championships or in Kansas at the USBC Intercollegiate Team Championships.
