University of Maryland Eastern Shore junior Alexandra Hernandez (Maracaibo, Venezuela) was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Bowler of the Week for the week ending Dec. 3.

Hernandez was the top individual at the MEAC Northern Division #2 meet this past weekend, averaging 211.5 pins in traditional play. She bowled a weekend-best 247 against Coppin State, and her 221 against Delaware State helped hand the Hornets their only loss of the weekend. With Hernandez leading the way, Maryland Eastern Shore was 6-2 for the weekend.

The Hawks (35-19, 12-4 MEAC) will now have a long holiday break between semesters. The will next travel to Heister Lanes in Reading, Pennsylvania for the KU (Kutztown) Invitational, Jan. 19-21.
