The University of Maryland Eastern Shore finished the Prairie View A&M Invitational with a 7-6 overall record and in 11th place after one final round of qualifying and bracket play on Sunday (Feb. 4).
The Hawks topped Fairleigh Dickinson, 1,050-997 in an early tradition match to finalize the standings for bracket play. The win put the Hawks at 6-5 in the opening two rounds of play.
In bracket play, Eastern Shore beat Louisiana Tech 4-1, before falling to Prairie View in a 4-3 battle.
Alexandra Hernandez (Maracaibo, Venezuela) rolled a 246 against the Knights in the morning to finish with a six-game traditional average of 219.33 and finished in eighth place.
Jacqueline Rhoda (Portage, Indiana) bowled a 248 in the same match and ended the event in 12th place individually with a 215.33 average.
Danielle August (Mililani, Hawaii) rolled a 209 and finished with a five-game average of 196.80 for 49th place.
The Shore will return to Texas, Feb. 16-18 for the SFA Jacks Invitational in Houston.
