Hawks rebound to go 3-2 on Day 2 at Prairie View

The Shore hoping to make a move in bracket play

ARLINGTON, Texas —No. 8 (National Tenpins Coaches Association) University of Maryland Eastern Shore went 3-2 in traditional play at the Prairie View Invitational at Bowl IRTC in Arlington Texas on Saturday (Feb. 2) and moved up to 8th place with one qualifying match to go before bracket play.

The Hawks (41-28, 8-2 MEAC) opened the day with a 926-917 win against NTCA No. 7 Fairleigh Dickinson. They dropped the next match 918-901 to No. 5 Sam Houston State before falling in in an 864-864 tiebreaker to Prairie View A&M.

The Shore rebounded to take the final two matches of the day. They topped No. 6 Tulane 989-962 and No. 10 Stephen F. Austin 987-846.

With one more traditional match to go, Hawks junior Cayla Hicks (Salem, Virginia) currently stands in third place with a 213.4 average in five games. Freshman Chloe Skurzynski (Carlisle, Pennsylvania) is 22nd with a 192.4 average.

Eastern Shore returns to action Sunday with one Traditional play qualifying round before bracket play.
