Hawks Complete First Tournament in North Carolina

Eastern Shore Resumes Fall Season In October

BURLINGTON, North Carolina — The University of Maryland Eastern Shore women's golf team finished their first tournament of the season on Tuesday (September 21) at the Elon Invitational in Burlington, North Carolina.

The two-day event was hosted by Elon University and a total of eight teams participated. The first two rounds were played on Monday (September 20) and the final round was played the next day.

Senior Briahna Willis finished with the top score for the Hawks with a 255 for the tournament. Her best outing came in the third round as she hit an 81, while she shot an 87 in each of the other two rounds. Freshman Arria Gross followed her with a 271 after hitting a 91 in the first and third rounds and an 89 in the second round.

Sophomore Nyla Myers finished with a 313 after three rounds and senior Nyla Sims had a 327 for the tournament. Sophomore Tiarra Williams did not compete on the first day and she came out on the second day and shot a 120 during round three.

Maryland Eastern Shore will take the course again October 25-27 in their home tournament, the Maryland Eastern Shore Collegiate Golf Challenge, at the Ocean City Golf Club in Berlin.
