PRINCESS ANNE, Maryland — The University of Maryland Eastern Shore bowling team returns to action beginning Saturday (Jan. 8) at the Stormin' Blue & White Vegas Classic hosted by Mount St. Mary's.
The Hawks (25-22, 3-5 MEAC) have not been in action since finishing in ninth place at the Hawks Classic (Nov. 19-21) in Millsboro, Delaware after winning all three matches on the final day.
"The team and I are happy to hit the lanes here in Vegas," Hawks coach Roger Petrin said. "It has been about a month since we have been together as a team. It will be exciting to finally take what we built from the Hawk Classic and transition it to the start of the second half of the year."
National Tenpin Coaches Association No. 18 Eastern Shore will begin play at 1:55 p.m. eastern time on Saturday with five 5-game Baker matches. They will face Grambling State, No. 2 McKendree, Prairie View A&M, No. 11 Stephen F. Austin and No. 10 Maryville.
