CHAMPIONSHIP PREVIEW: Hawks prepare for MEAC Indoor Track & Field Championships


OVERVIEW

The University of Maryland Shore women's and men's track and field team travel to Virginia Beach, Virginia for the 2024 MEAC Indoor Championships. Competition begins on Sunday and concludes on Tuesday.



TOP UMES PERFORMERS

As the Hawks prepare for the conference championships, UMES enters with a trio of top jumpers in the MEAC. Faithlyn Irving set a school record at last week's meet at Clemson with a MEAC best mark of 12.76m. She also ranks second in the high jump with a 5.86m leap at Rutgers earlier in February. Malachi Aiken, who also set the school record in the triple jump, enters the championships with a MEAC best 15.66m while teammate Caleb Goslee holds the current MEAC top mark of 7.43m in the long jump. Chloe Lucas currently has the best time of any MEAC runner in the 400m with a pace of 55.52 which she ran in late January at Boston University.
