In addition to earning the APR award, the Hawks' athletic department received a check for $10,000.

This award is a direct result from the student-athletes' dedication to their academic endeavors as well as the tremendous efforts of our academic support team led by Ms. Collene Dean, our Associate Athletics Director of Academics," Deputy Athletics Director Alisha Tucker said. "The funds awarded to UMES by the MEAC will be used to help continue to enhance our academic resources and facilities for student-athletes.
