COMMENTS FROM COACH CLEO HILL, JR.
"I thought we played well early, but give American all the credit. They executed for 40 minutes; I don't think they had any lulls. We had a lot of lulls. We executed really well early, and then it tailed off. Give them credit. They played well throughout."
"It's sustaining that effort on both ends of the floor, defensively and offensively. But offensively, just maintaining being connected through five players. That's what we're not doing well enough for long enough stretches."
"The bench guys play well in spurts. We're trying to find different units that play together well. We have some units that play together well offensively, but not defensively. And others where they play well defensively, but not offensively. So that's kind of where we are with the depth of the team. I like it, we've got some good size and athleticism, but not a whole lot of shooting. We have some pieces, we just need to bring it together."
"Hopefully the camaraderie will strengthen. It's 11 straight days. Some tough games, but great atmospheres to play in for college basketball players. We want to go ahead, get prepared, enjoy it, play hard and see what happens."
