Three Hawks earn MEAC gold; UMES places five on podium at MEAC Championships
SUMMARY
As the University of Maryland Eastern Shore track and field program wrapped up a successful MEAC Championship with three individual MEAC golf medals while having a total of five athletes make the podium in Virginia Beach. As a team, the women finished with 42 total points for a sixth place finish while the men tallied 46 points and finished in seventh place.

WOMEN'S RESULTS
The UMES women's championship week was highlighted by Hawk triple jumper
Faithlyn Irving. Irving claimed gold for the second straight year in the triple jump with a mark of 12.52 meters on her third jump of the final. Teammate
Jonysha Prucien earned bronze in the event with a distance of 12.31m. In addition to the medals won by Irving and Prucien, the Hawks earned team points by way of the following performances:

MEN'S RESULTS
The Hawk men claimed MEAC gold in two events while earning bronze in the 60 meter and setting a new school record in the event. Freshman Nathan Wade took the top spot in Saturday's long jump with a mark of 7.46 on his final attempt. Yourie Lawrence-Clarke, another UMES freshman, crossed the finish line first in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 7.86. Sophomore Andie Kollie set a new UMES record with a 6.73 in the 60 meter preliminaries before earning a bronze medal with a pace of 6.77 in the final.
