PRINCESS ANNE, Maryland – September 28, 2026 – The University of Maryland Eastern Shore Department of Athletics has announced the addition of Percival Poyser to its athletic communications staff.

Poyser joins the Hawks after spending two years as a graduate assistant in the Delaware State University Media Relations office. During his time with the Hornets, he served as the primary communications contact for men's basketball, women's tennis, men's and women's cross country, indoor and outdoor track & field and triathlon.

In addition to his media relations responsibilities, Poyser contributed to content creation across Delaware State Athletics and supervised Project Sting, a student content program focused on athletics promotions and MEAC partnerships.

Poyser also previously served as a graphic design intern with Position Sports, producing and assisting with creative content for events and organizations including the Hoophall Classic, Las Vegas Bowl, Las Vegas HBCU Classic and Nike Girls EYBL.

Outside of collegiate athletics, Poyser serves as Creative Director for D1 Showcase, a nonprofit organization where he has produced more than 200 graphics and helped promote the stories of more than 150 athletes. He also introduced the organization's "Beyond the Clipboard" series, highlighting the behind-the-scenes perspectives of college and high school coaches.

A two-time graduate of Delaware State, Poyser earned his bachelor's degree in sport management in 2024 and master's degree in sport administration in 2026.

With experience spanning athletic communications, creative design and student development, Poyser will help strengthen the Hawks' storytelling efforts while expanding the ways Maryland Eastern Shore Athletics showcases its student-athletes, coaches and programs.
