Maggie Hayon joined the UMES Athletic Department in August 2009 and is the main contact for the men's basketball, softball and men's and women's cross country and track and field teams. Additionally, she is responsible for developing publications and promotional materials while further enhancing the Hawks' role in the community and in social media.
Hayon graduated from Marquette University (Milwaukee, Wis.) in May 2008 with a B.A. in Public Relations and minor in Marketing. During her four years at MU, she worked in for the Golden Eagles Athletic Department as an administrative student assistant and game-day staff.
Additionally, she spent two summers with the Milwaukee Brewers Baseball Club as a Media Relations Intern (2006) and Community Relations Intern (2007). Upon graduation, she accepted a position as the Media Relations Assistant for Minor League Baseball's Eugene Emeralds, where she wrote and produced game-day programs and player/coach trading cards, executed on-field promotions and handled daily fan interactions. She continues to volunteer her time with the Brewers Community Foundation (formerly Brewers Charities, Inc.).
Prior to joining the staff at UMES, Hayon spent eight months nannying for two families and babysitting for three other families, all in the Milwaukee area.
She is a native of Howards Grove, Wis.
