Brendon Perez

Brendon Perez served as the assistant coach for the University of Maryland Eastern Shore's cross country and track & field programs from the spring of 2023 until May of 2024.

Perez came to UMES after serving as the assistant coach at Fairleigh Dickinson for the previous three seasons. Prior to his service as an assistant, Perez was a graduate assistant with the Knights' strength and conditioning staff.

Perez boasts quite the impressive resume in competition as the New York resident was a sprinter and jumper during the 2017-18 and 2018-19 academic years. While on the Hackensack as a student-athlete, Perez was the 2018 Northeast Conference Indoor Track and Field individual champion in triple jump and was also the runner-up as part of the Knights' 4x400m relay team. The 2018 NEC Indoor Track and Field Most Outstanding Performer (jumps), Perez finished fifth in long jump at outdoor ECAC/IC4A championship and was a qualifier the following year in both the indoor and outdoor seasons.

Joining the Knights' strength and conditioning staff in January 2020 alongside Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Performance Dave Downey, Perez built trusting relationships with student-athletes and coaches and assisted them to set and achieve continually escalating objectives. Serves as the strength and conditioning coach for numerous FDU programs, Perez's highlights include working alongside the 2019-20 NEC women's indoor track and field champions, 2020-21 NEC men's tennis champions and 2020-21 NEC women's bowling champions. Observing student-athletes in their "return to play" protocols, Perez designed programs built around stretching, mobility work and proper form to help athletes safely build strength through diverse training methods.

Perez earned his Associate's Degree in Business Administration at Monroe [N.Y.] before arriving on the Hackensack where he completed his Bachelor's in Business Administration at the University's Silberman College of Business in 2019.
