Rudd begins her second season as a graduate assistant coach for the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.
Raised and inspired by former Utah Jazz Point Guard, Delany Rudd, in Kernersville, North Carolina, Mia has spent her whole life around basketball, playing as early as 3 years old. It is this influence which led her to being in her first season of being a graduate assistant for the Hawks.
In high school, she played every position. Her versatility on the court allowed her to lead her team to compete in the state playoffs during her senior year.
Immediately after high school, Rudd played at North Carolina A&T for a year. Shortly after leaving the team at A&T she entered the world of coaching at her old high school and maintained that position for two years while she was still completing her undergraduate courses.
Rudd has also been deeply involved in coaching and administrative work with the NC Basketball Academy, bringing what she learned from her father’s expertise to the shore.
