Shauna Helps

Shauna Helps  served as a graduate assistant at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore and worked primarily with sprinters.
 
Hailing from Kingston, Jamaica - Helps is a former All-American and All-Academic student-athlete with Florida State University where she was a force to be reckoned with on both the track and in the classroom.
 
Coming to UMES for her masters in Rehabilitation and Counseling, Helps brings a wealth of knowledge across the broad spectrum of what it means to be a student-athlete at the highest level of competition.
 
During her time with FSU, Helps was one of the most decorated athletes in the Atlantic Athletic Conference, putting herself apart early by being named the ACC Freshman of the Year in 2016. In one of the toughest conferences in the country, Helps obtained first team or second team All-Conference status in 2016, 2017 and 2018 in both indoor and outdoor track.
 
Not only was Helps an amazing athlete for the Seminoles, but she was also a Cum Laude graduate with a 3.487 GPA overall and 3.6 major GPA, being named to the Dean’s List every semester from Fall 2015 to Spring 2017 while being a member of the Minority Association of Premedical Students.
