Alexis Shadowens joined the University of Maryland Eastern Shore softball program as an assistant coach in 2026 after serving on the coaching staff at Bluefield State University.
During her time at Bluefield State, Shadowens assisted with the daily operations of the softball program, including practice planning, player development, team logistics, and administrative responsibilities. She also helped foster a positive and accountable team culture while supporting the overall growth and success of the program.
Before joining the coaching staff, Shadowens completed an internship with the Bluefield State athletic department, where she gained valuable experience in athletic operations, sports marketing, game-day production, statistics, and event management. Her well-rounded background has provided her with experience both on the field and behind the scenes in collegiate athletics.
A former collegiate student-athlete, Shadowens competed at both Bluefield State University and Dyersburg State Community College. During her senior season, she earned Most Valuable Player and First Team All-Conference honors, capping off a successful playing career before transitioning into coaching.
Shadowens earned her Bachelor of Science in Sports Management from Bluefield State University in 2026.
