Megan Barnes

Megan Barnes joined the University of Maryland Eastern Shore's athletic training staff in May of 2024.


Prior to UMES, Barnes served as Vermont State University Lyndon's Head Athletic Trainer from August of 2017 to April of 2024.  Barnes came to Lyndon from ATI Physical Therapy in Dover, Delaware.  While working for ATI she served as the sole Athletic Trainer for Delaware Technical and Community College and for St. Thomas More Preparatory School.  She was also on the athletic training staff at Wesley College.  In addition, she also worked with patients in ATI’s clinic locations.
 

Prior to working for ATI, Barnes spent two years working for Somerset County Public Schools in Crisfield, Maryland.  She was the Athletic Trainer for Crisfield High School and Somerset Intermediate School.
 

Barnes is a 2020 graduate of Castleton in University in Castleton, Vermont with a M.S. in Athletic Leadership and a 2014 graduate of Norwich University in Northfield, Vermont, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training.  She also holds an Associate of Arts degree from Wor-Wic Community College in Salisbury, Maryland.  She is a Board Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) and is a Licensed Athletic Trainer (LAT) in Maryland and Vermont.


Barnes holds certifications in Functional Movement, Dry Needling, RockBlades, Rockfloss, and Rockpods, CPR Instruction, and ONETeam Facilitation.


Barnes is originally from Princess Anne, Maryland and graduated from nearby Washington High School.
