Renee Clarke

Renee Clarke joined the University of Maryland Eastern Shore as the Director of Recreation and Aquatics in January of 2024.

 
Clarke oversees all recreational and intramural activities in Tawes Gymnasium as well as the weight room. In her brief time at UMES, Clarke also was instrumental in getting the Hytche acquatic center opened for student and public usage.

 
Clarke brings over 30 years of collegiate experience as a softball coach and facilities manager, including 30 years as a head coach on both the NCAA Division III and Division I levels.


A four-year softball and field hockey player during her collegiate career at Rutgers University, Clarke earned Atlantic 10 All-conference honors four straight years and was a member of three USA Softball World Championship Teams (1984-85, 1987).  She was inducted into the Rutgers University Athletic Hall of Fame in 1996.
