The game went back and forth when the Hawks took their last lead at the 4:58 mark on a Wiggins lay-in that made it 53-52. DSU closed out the game on a Carlos Hawkins lay-in, followed by three for four shooting from the line by Hunter. Terrance Hunter who led all scorers with 18 points paced Delaware State.
