UMES tried to put something together at the top of the fifth, as Ashley Jones (Salisbury, MD/Parkside) singled and advanced to second on an error by the centerfielder. Latoya Bailey (Salisbury, MD/ Bennett) added a sac bunt to get Jones to third, but the next two batters went down in order as Lady Pirate lead remained at 2-0 after four and a half innings.
