Princess Anne, MD - The University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) Men and Women's Tennis Teams played their first home match under lights in several seasons tonight but couldn't slash the Pirates of Hampton University as the men and women both fell 4-0.

On the men's side Christopher Clarke played a tough match against Seo-Jae Chang at the number one spot, falling 6-2, 6-1. George Ray and Rob Schneider both fell at their respective spots, 6-1, 6-0. The final three individual matches went unfinished as Hampton won all three doubles matches recording the point. These didn't come easy however, as William Miller and Shahan Sudusinghe played a great match at the three spot before falling 8-3. The first two doubles matches featuring Clarke and Harold Fowler and Ray and Schneider were also close as both fell 8-2.

On the women's side the closest match was the number three doubles contest where Tonaio Swangin and Sashonna Leak fell 8-1. The Lady Pirates of Hampton were strong and shut out the Lady Hawks in all other individual and singles matches.

Both teams are back in action tomorrow when Coppin State comes to town for a 1:00 match at Hawk Courts.
