UMES FALLS TO LOCAL RIVAL DELAWARE STATE 7-0

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. - In their second Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) match of the season the Fighting Hawks of the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) fell 7-0 to local rival Delaware State University (DSU).

Rashad James played an exciting match at No. 1 singles against Oleg Mironchikov before falling 6-1, 6-2. The same can be said for numbers two and four singles as Drian Thomas fell 6-1, 6-0 and Harold Fowler 6-0, 6-2 to Alexy Chibsov and Milos Velckovic respectively.

The number three and five singles players were shut out 6-0, 6-0 and were nos. 1 and 2 doubles, both by scores of 8-0. UMES (0-7, 0-2 MEAC) defaulted at No. 6 singles and No. 3 doubles.

The Hawks are back in action on Wednesday at Hampton University in a MEAC match-up.
