BUFFALO RALLY DOWNS LADY HAWKS

HAMPTON, Va. - The University at Buffalo (UB) scored all 10 of its runs in the bottom of the third inning against the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) softball team Friday afternoon at the Hampton University Tournament. UB finished with seven hits, in the 10-0 win.

Mishayla Truttman (Gresham, Ore.) had held the Bulls to just one hit going into the bottom of the third inning, but UB rallied off four walks with two doubles and two singles to go ahead 6-0 with just one out. Inde Whitehurst (Virginia Beach, Va.) then substituted in on the mound for UMES and allowed one UB hit before retiring the side.

Kristi Miranda (Houston, Texas) and Ebony Hahn (Groveport, Ohio) had the only two hits for UMES. Terese Diaz (7-1) gets the win for UB and Truttman (1-3) receives the loss.

The Lady Hawks (6-5) move into double-elimination bracket play over the weekend to close out the tournament. They will then head home to face Hampton University on March 28 at 1 p.m. for their conference opener.
