Game Notes

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. - The University of Maryland Eastern Shore men's basketball will try to rebound against another conference opponent, North Carolina A&T. UMES (3-7, 0-1) will play the Aggies as part of a doubleheader on Monday evening at William P. Hytche Athletic Center with tip-off scheduled for 7:30 p.m. after the conclusion of the women's game.

UMES is coming off a competitive contest with the defending league champions, North Carolina Central. The Hawks took a 49-48 lead, but North Carolina Central grabbed the upper hand with an Anthony McDonald three-pointer and never looked back, en route to the 68-63 final. Still, UMES battled the champs to the final whistle, with Mike Myers leading the squad with 18 points and seven rebounds.

The Hawks now turn their attention to another conference foe from the Tar Heel State, North Carolina A&T. The Aggies lost their first league game at Howard, dropping to 1-8 overall on the year. North Carolina A&T lost to the Bison, 54-47, despite holding James Daniel, the conference's leading scorer, to just four points. With the defeat, the Aggies bring an eight-game losing streak into Princess Anne on Monday.

Monday's game will be the 80th meeting all-time between UMES and North Carolina A&T. The Aggies have owned the series, 61-18, though UMES got the better of North Carolina A&T last season. On February 1, 2014, UMES rode 26 points from Hakeem Baxter to a 67-60 victory over the Aggies. The Hawks built a 27-point lead at one point, only for it to shrink all the way down to two points. Still, UMES held on for the win, their first conference victory of the previous season.

Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. in Princess Anne, after the women's basketball game between the two schools. Pregame coverage on the Hawks Radio Network will begin twenty minutes before tip-off on SFMSports.net and Fox Sports 960 AM.
