Nov. 23, 2015 PRINCESS ANNE, Md. - Senior bowler
Thashaina Seraus (Oranjestad, Aruba) and senior men's basketball
Dominique Elliott (Savannah, Ga.) were named the University of Maryland Eastern Shore Peninsula Regional Medical Center Athletes of the Week for the week ending November 23rd.
Seraus is being named for the third time this season while Elliott is being named for the first time. Seraus was named to the All-Tournament team at the Hawk Classic. On day two of the tournament she first bowled a 254 in a win over Missouri. She then bowled a 213 to help her hawks win over St. Francis-Brooklyn. After a three day event she finished fifth overall averaging 207.83 and helped lead her Hawks to a third-place finish.
Elliott got on track in a big way for the Hawks in their third game of the season against Wofford. Staying out of foul trouble, he took advantage of his size, grabbing seven board to lead UMES on the glass, but also adding 19 points while shooting 50-percent from the field.
Seraus and the Hawks bowling team will head to Dover, Delaware on December 5 for the MEAC Northern Division #2, while Elliott and the men's basketball team have their home opener tomorrow (Nov. 24) against Fairfield.
