SERAUS, LEON NAMED UMES PRMC ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. - Senior bowler Thashaina Seraus (Oranjestad, Aruba) and freshman men's indoor track runner Jordan Leon (Baltimore, Md.) were named the University of Maryland Eastern Shore Peninsula Regional Medical Center Athletes of the Week for the week ending December 7^th. Seraus is being named for the third time this season, while Leon is being named for the second time.

Seraus bowled exceptionally at the second MEAC Northern Divisional meet this past weekend, primarily during individuals. Starting out with a 269 in the first game, she remained consistent, ending with a 976 series over four games. That mark was good for a 244 average as the Hawks went 3-1 on Saturday.

Leon finished strong in his indoor track collegiate debut. His day started out in the mile run, where he took second with a time of 4:19.03. The Baltimorean then won the 800 meter at 1:58 flat. But his best performance came in the 4x400 relay, when he ran the final leg for the Hawks. The freshman started in second place, but on the final stretch blazed past his Delaware State competitor to win the event for the Hawks.

Both players will continue to train for the next month but will not face intercollegiate competition until January.
