After a scoreless opening inning, NCCU's Dominique Wilson homered over the left centerfield fence to give the Lady Eagles a 1-0 advantage. In the bottom four, NC Central had a big rally.
NCCU registered eight runs on seven hits in the inning, capped off by a grand slam from Jenny Tracy. Maryland Eastern Shore fell to the Lady Eagles, 9-0.
For NC Central, Wilson went a perfect 3-of-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Tracy recorded a game-high four RBIs in the victory.

With two straight innings of scoreless softball, the Lady Hawks got on the board first after a NCCU miscue, 1-0. In the bottom third, NC Central responded with two runs and took the lead, 2-1. Next inning, Hudson's sac fly tied the contest, 2-2, but the Lady Eagles answered.
NCCU manufactured four hits on four runs in the fourth and reclaimed the advantage, 6-2. UMES refused to give up as they scored another run in the fifth, 6-3. Despite the Lady Hawks in striking distance, NC Central put the contest away with two more runs in the sixth to win, 8-3.
