The University of Maryland Eastern Shore lost a tough 4-3 match to No. 3 Vanderbilt to open bracket play on Sunday (Oct. 29) at the McKendree Brunswick Bearcat Open at the St. Clair Bowl in Fairview Heights, Illinois and ended up settling for 7th place.
The Hawks went 1-2 on the final day of competition falling to both the Commodores and No. 4 Arkansas State (by a 4-1 score) before rebounding with a 4-2 win against No. 12 Central Missouri.
The Shore rebounded from down 3-1 against Vandy and put together 209-167 and 181-167 wins to knot the score at 3-3 before eventually falling.
The University of Nebraska won the event by defeating host McKendree in the final.
The Hawks (7-5) will next travel to the Track Kat Clash Nov. 3-5 at Emerald Lanes in Houston Texas.
