Hawks suffer season sweep at the hands of Howard

WASHINGTON, D.C. -

The University of Maryland Eastern Shore trailed by seven points at the break at Howard University on Monday night, but another come-from-behind victory wasn't in the cards.

The Hawks (11-19, 8-7 MEAC) shot just 37 percent from the field in the second half including 2-of-13 from behind the arc as the Bison (8-11, 5-10 MEAC) picked up the win, 79-69, on their senior night to sweep the season series.

Bakari Copeland (Decatur, Georgia) led The Shore with 16 points, while junior Logan McIntosh (Atlanta, Georgia) chipped in 14 points, eight rebounds four assists and three steals from the point guard spot.

Dontae Caldwell (Santa, Ana, California) added 12 points, three rebounds and a pair of assists, but played just 19 minutes due to foul trouble. Freshman Tyler Jones (Atlantic City, New Jersey) had 11 off the bench.

The Hawks were outrebounded 46-37 and had just 10 assists on the night.

The Bison got double-digit scoring from five different players led by Tyler Stone's 19.

Howard leads the all-time series 59-42.

Eastern Shore will host Morgan State on Thursday at the William P. Hytche Athletic Center. It is a senior night double dip and the men's game will begin at 7:30 p.m.
