Hawks return home to rematch Delaware State

The Shore looks to sweep Delmarva rivals

PRINCESS ANNE, Maryland — The University of Maryland Eastern Shore volleyball team returns to the William P. Hytche Athletic Center Sunday (Oct. 28) for a 2 p.m. matchup with Delaware State. The Hawks will look to rebound from a two match losing streak and attempt to sweep the Hornets in MEAC play.

Sunday's contest will also serve as the annual Pink Game, and fans are encouraged to wear pink and show support in the fight against breast cancer. Tickets can be purchased online and students are admitted free with their HawkCard.

The Shore faces Delaware State for the second time this season. The teams met in Dover back on September 28th, and the Hawks earned a sweep in a tidy one hour 11 minutes - their quickest match this year.

During the match Maryland Eastern Shore earned their highest hitting percentage as a team in nearly a decade, earning 36 kills in 63 attempts with just five errors (.492). Lucia Babic led the match with 15 kills and Rachel Kayongo added nine.

Since then, the Hawks have gone 2-4 and stand in third with a 3-2 mark in the MEAC North. Delaware State is carrying an eight match losing streak into the Hytche Center.

Live stats and live video will be provided by the Hawks.
