PRINCESS ANNE, Maryland — This weekend the University of Maryland Eastern Shore volleyball team returns home for the first time in nearly a month. On Friday (Oct. 5) The Shore battles Norfolk State at 6 p.m., followed by a 2 p.m. Sunday (Oct. 7) matinee with Howard.
Both matches will take place at the Hytche Center. For Sunday's match fans are encouraged to wear black as we Blackout the Hytche. The Hawks will look to defeat the three time defending MEAC champion Bison, and the first 75 fans receive a free T-shirt as they enter.
Tickets cost $5 and are available online or at the door. A limited number of courtside seats are available for $10. Students are free with a HawkCard.
Live video and live stats will also be available.
The Shore is coming off one of the best offensive performances in a decade. They earned the highest hitting percentage for a match since 2008 with a sweep of Delaware State in Dover last Friday (Sept. 28).
This weekend the team will be looking for their 10th straight win against Norfolk State and the third straight against Howard. Maryland Eastern Shore holds a 33-13 series lead over the Spartans and a 24-24 deadlock with the Bison.
