Eastern Shore Heads to the Concrete Jungle

Hawks Face Undefeated Red Storm

PRINCESS ANNE, Maryland Following their first win of the season, the University of Maryland Eastern Shore men's basketball team is headed to New York City to face the St. John's University Red Storm on Tuesday night (Nov. 27).

The Hawks (1-5) picked up their first win of the season last Saturday (Nov. 24) against Central Penn 77-52. Maryland Eastern Shore was led by guard Ryan Andino (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) and his game high 26 points. Forward AJ Cheeseman (Snellville, GA) added 20 points on 8-12 shooting.

Eastern Shore will face its second Big East opponent of the season on Tuesday. The Hawks fell to Georgetown 68-53 in the season opener back on Nov. 6.

St. John's comes into the game undefeated at 5-0 and coming off an overtime win versus VCU in the Legends Classic last week. The Red Storm are led by preseason Jerry West Award watch list member Shamorie Ponds. Ponds is averaging 23.2 points per game, five assists and three steals per game.

The Hawks and Red Storm game can be heard locally on Fox Sports 960 AM WTGM and online at EasternShoreHawks.com. Pregame coverage will begin at 6:15 p.m. with Will DeBoer on The Shore Sports Network. The game will be televised on FS1.

The Shore will return home following their trip to Queens to face the University of Delaware on Friday night (Nov. 30).
