BALTIMORE, Maryland - The Shore lost to Coppin State by the score of 3-1 on Wednesday (Mar. 28).
The game was scoreless after three innings before Coppin State scored first in the bottom of the fourth. They got two runs in that frame.
The Shore scored their lone run of the game in the sixth. Following a triple by junior Daeshia Jones, senior Samantha Casarez drove her in with a RBI single. The Eagles answered that run in the bottom of the inning to give themselves a two run cushion that they held throughout the rest of the game.
Sophomore LeAnn Gingrich pitched a complete game for the Hawks in the circle. She allowed six hits and two earned runs during the outing.
Eastern Shore will play Norfolk State in a series this weekend with the first game on Friday at 7:00 pm at the Henry S. Parker Athletic Complex in Salisbury.
