NORFOLK, Virginia — A grand total of 89 student-athletes from Maryland Eastern Shore were acknowledged by the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) as part of the Commissioner's All-Academic Team. The Hawks' group is part of 1,366 student-athletes honored from the conference's 13 member institutions.

Student-athletes with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher earn a spot on the team.

"I am excited to congratulate the 1,366 student-athletes who have maintained a 3.0 or better grade point average during this academic school year," said MEAC Commissioner Dennis E. Thomas. "I would like to commend the administrators, athletic academic support staffs and personnel, coaches, institutions, and parents for their contributions to the academic success of these student-athletes."

A full list of Maryland Eastern Shore awardees is below. Baseball leads all Hawk squads with 17 recipients, while volleyball had 13 honorees. Women's basketball finished just behind volleyball with 12 members on the Commissioner's team.

The Shore also has a consistent track record of leading the MEAC in graduation success rate, averaging 85 percent of athletes graduating over the past 10 years.
