PRINCESS ANNE, Maryland — The University of Maryland Eastern Shore men's basketball team will play their third straight home game on Monday night (Jan. 14) versus the North Carolina A&T State University Aggies.
The Hawks (2-16, 0-3 MEAC) dropped their last contest against North Carolina Central 61-48 on Jan. 12. Maryland Eastern Shore had struggles shooting against the Eagles as they shot 34 percent for the game.
Junior Tyler Jones (Atlantic City, NJ) was the only Hawk that got into double figures versus NCCU with 13 points. Fellow junior Bryan Urrutia (Chihuahua, Mexico) had a tough day shooting but he dished out his second 10-assist game of the season against the Eagles.
Monday's game with the Aggies will conclude the Hawks' longest home stretch of the season. The Hawks will not be inside the Hytche Center to play again until the month of February.
North Carolina A&T (7-9, 2-0 MEAC) comes into Princess Anne following a win versus Delaware State 93-70 on Jan. 12. The Aggies hold the best field goal percentage in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference as they shoot 48.4 percent as a team.
Junior Quavius "Qua" Copeland leads the Aggies in scoring and is currently tenth in the MEAC in that category. Copeland is averaging 20 points per game in A&T's first two conference games.
