MILLSBORO, Delaware — The University of Maryland Eastern Shore headed into bracket play at the Eastern Shore Hawk Classic Sunday as the No. 5 seed, but went 1-2 in best-of-seven Team Baker format to finish sixth.
The Hawks started out with a 4-2 loss to Duquesne before recovering to top Youngstown State 4-2 in the second round.
The Shore (49-14) then fell 4-1 in a positional round match to Vanderbilt to finish in sixth place.
The Shore will return to action Jan. 17-19 at the Northeast Classic at the Limerick Bowl in Limerick, Pennsylvania.
