PRINCESS ANNE, Maryland — The University of Maryland Eastern Shore men's basketball team will look to get its second straight win against the East Carolina University Pirates on Tuesday night (Dec. 17).
Eastern Shore (1-10) got their first win of the season their last time out on Dec. 8 against Clarks Summit. The Hawks won the game 85-39 as they were able to force a school record 41 turnovers which included 26 steals.
Juniors Canaan Bartley (Miami, Fla.) and Ty Gibson (Brooklyn, N.Y.) along with freshman Da'Shawn Phillip (Baltimore, Md.) all scored 12 points to lead the team in scoring. Phillip also had six steals in the game.
Maryland Eastern Shore is facing Tuesday's opponent, ECU, for the second year in a row. The Pirates won the game 70-47 a season ago. East Carolina got their third victory of the season in their last game on Dec. 14 against Campbell 79-67.

Following their game on Tuesday, the Hawks will stay in North Carolina to face Charlotte on Thursday (Dec. 19) at 7 p.m. They will end their road trip at Old Dominion on Sunday (Dec. 22).
