Hawks Look For Back To Back Wins

The Shore Are Back To Full Strength for the Final Month

PRINCESS ANNE, Maryland The University of Maryland Eastern Shore men's basketball team will face the Savannah State University Tigers on Monday evening (Feb. 4) looking for their second straight win.

The Hawks (4-20, 2-7 MEAC) are coming off their first conference home win versus South Carolina State on Feb. 2. Bryan Urrutia (Chihuahua, Mexico) had a career high 22 points and nine assists with zero turnovers versus the Bulldogs.

Forward AJ Cheeseman (Snellville, GA) returned on Saturday for Maryland Eastern Shore. The junior played in his first game since a Dec. 15 matchup with Pittsburgh. Cheeseman logged 12 minutes in the game with SC State.

The Hawks and Tigers will play their only matchup of the season on Monday. SSU won last year's matchup 87-59.

Savannah State (6-15, 3-4 MEAC) won their last time out versus Delaware State 76-73. Collins Joseph led the Tigers with 17 points.

The Tigers are currently the second highest scoring team in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference at 77.1 points per game. Jaquan Dotson and Zach Sellers lead SSU with 12.7 and 12.6 points per game respectively.
