Hawks Face Mount St. Mary’s In Midweek Doubleheader

The Shore Play for the First Time in 10 Days

PRINCESS ANNE, Maryland The University of Maryland Eastern Shore softball team will face Mount St. Mary's on Wednesday afternoon (March 13) in a doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m.

The Hawks (1-7) have not played since the Gardner-Webb Tournament on March 3. Eastern Shore captured their first win of the season that day as they defeated South Carolina State 5-4 on a walk-off hit by senior Breana Florez (Houston, TX).

Freshman Jordan Kelly (Bridgeton, NJ) is leading Maryland Eastern Shore and the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) is batting average (.471) and slugging percentage (.706). Senior Kiana Peterson (Willingboro, NJ) is hitting .385 for the Hawks and leads the team in on-base percentage (.529)

The Mount (7-12) is led by graduate student Morgan Alisauckas as she is batting .375 in the team's first 19 games.

Eastern Shore will be back in action this weekend (March 15-16) in Durham, NC against North Carolina Central University. The two teams will play doubleheaders on each day.
