PRINCESS ANNE, Maryland — The University of Maryland Eastern Shore softball team will face Mount St. Mary's on Wednesday afternoon (March 13) in a doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m.
The Hawks (1-7) have not played since the Gardner-Webb Tournament on March 3. Eastern Shore captured their first win of the season that day as they defeated South Carolina State 5-4 on a walk-off hit by senior Breana Florez (Houston, TX).
Freshman Jordan Kelly (Bridgeton, NJ) is leading Maryland Eastern Shore and the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) is batting average (.471) and slugging percentage (.706). Senior Kiana Peterson (Willingboro, NJ) is hitting .385 for the Hawks and leads the team in on-base percentage (.529)
The Mount (7-12) is led by graduate student Morgan Alisauckas as she is batting .375 in the team's first 19 games.
Eastern Shore will be back in action this weekend (March 15-16) in Durham, NC against North Carolina Central University. The two teams will play doubleheaders on each day.
