NIKE Basketball Camps to make their debut at Maryland Eastern Shore

U.S. Sports Camps will host a Boys Nike Basketball Camp at The Shore this summer

PRINCESS ANNE, Maryland — Stemming from the success of both Nike Volleyball and Baseball camps hosted by the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, Nike will host another sports camp this summer on campus for Boys Basketball with new head coach and former NBA assistant Jason Crafton.

"I am so excited to work with the youth on improving their skills," said Crafton. "My coaching experience ranging from NBA players, college stars to youth of all ages will help me get the best out of each camper," said Crafton, who has hosted successful camps at many other universities and teams. This will be his first at Maryland Eastern Shore.

Crafton is a young but experienced coach, with stints at several levels including most recently the NBA G-League. The 16-year-veteran of coaching spent this past season in the NBA ranks as an assistant coach with the Philadelphia 76ers' G-League affiliate Delaware Blue Coats.

Prior to that, he was the head coach at his alma mater, Nyack College from 2012-18. He spent the beginning of his career as an assistant at the United States Naval Academy and Villanova University.

Over the course of four days, campers will work on all things basketball from the fundamentals to shooting technique, shot selection, footwork, offensive and defensive training, scrimmages and off-court classroom sessions to enhance the campers' basketball IQ and game play understanding.

The Nike Boys Basketball Camp in Princess Anne runs June 20-23 and is for ages 10-18. Cost is just $535 for overnight campers and $435 for extended day campers who attend from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. For questions or to register, go online at www.USSportsCamps.com or call 1-800 Nike Camp (800-645-3226).

The program is designed to benefit all ability levels, from beginners to advanced. Campers are broken up into groups based on skill level. Every aspect of the game is covered, giving campers a solid skill foundation to build upon after camp. The Complete Skills Camp helps players of all abilities develop athletically, refine fundamental basketball skills and enhance their skill set at the post, wing or guard positions. Full scrimmages allow campers to put their skills to the test in the game situations.
