Hawks Take On Bears in Their Final Game of January

Eastern Shore Faces In-State Foe Morgan State

PRINCESS ANNE, Maryland — The University of Maryland Eastern Shore men's basketball team will play their final game during the month of January on Monday night (Jan. 27) against the Morgan State University Bears inside the William P. Hytche Center. Tip will be at approximately 7:30 p.m.

The Hawks (2-18, 1-4 MEAC) dropped their last game at South Carolina State 68-53 on Jan. 20. Senior AJ Cheeseman (Snellville, Georgia) scored 11 points in that game. The forward has scored in double figures in four of the Hawks' five MEAC games.

Monday's game will be the first for Eastern Shore with classes back in session for the spring semester. Students should be expected to pack the stands as many have not had a chance to see the squad play at home since Dec. 8 against Clarks Summit.

Morgan State (10-12, 4-3) is coming to Eastern Shore after defeating Coppin State 50-48 on Jan. 25. Stanley Davis leads the Bears attack as he averages 13.8 points and six rebounds per game. He is in the top 10 in the conference in both categories.

The game can be seen via Facebook Live at https://www.facebook.com/ESHawks/posts/10156522625732735 with Will DeBoer and former Hawk coach Frankie Allen on the call.

The Shore will play their next game against their Route 13 rival Delaware State on Feb. 3 in Dover.
