Eastern Shore Faces Howard in First Conference Game

Hawks Look for First Win versus the Bison in Four Years

PRINCESS ANNE, Maryland — The University of Maryland Eastern Shore men's basketball opens their conference schedule on Saturday afternoon (Jan. 4) against the Howard University Bison inside the Hytche Athletic Center at 4 p.m.

Eastern Shore (1-14) begins a three game home stand on Saturday, which will be their longest stint at home this season. This is a welcomed site for the Hawks as they played 13 of their first 15 games on the road.

Saturday's opponent, Howard, has controlled the head-to-head matchup in recent years. The Bison have won seven straight games against the Hawks. The Shore have not defeated HU since Feb. 1, 2016. Redshirt senior Ahmad Frost (Cincinnati, Ohio) was a freshman and scored eight points in that game four seasons ago.

The game can be heard locally on Fox Sports 960 AM WTGM and online at EasternShoreHawks.com. Pregame coverage begins with Will DeBoer on The Shore Sports Network after the conclusion of the women's game between the Hawks and Bison.

Following Saturday's game, the Hawks will have a week off before the face North Carolina A&T on Jan. 11.
