Hawks Look For Second Straight Win Monday Night

Eastern Shore Faces Florida A&M

PRINCESS ANNE, Maryland — The University of Maryland Eastern Shore men's basketball team will be going for their second straight win on Monday night (Feb. 16) against the Florida A&M University Rattlers at 7:30 p.m. inside the Hytche Center.

The Hawks (4-21, 3-7 MEAC) are coming off an impressive 66-58 win against the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats on Saturday (Feb. 15). Four players finished in double figures in scoring for the team led by senior AJ Cheeseman (Snellville, Georgia) who had 17. Freshman Glen Anderson (Harlem, New York) had a strong all-around game with eight points, eight rebounds and six assists.

Eastern Shore used a strong defensive attack against the Wildcats as they held them 18 points below their season average. The Shore is currently in the top three in the MEAC in blocks, steals and points per game allowed.

Florida A&M (10-13, 8-4 MEAC) has won their last four games coming into Monday night. Their last win was a 97-95 double overtime win over Delaware State on Saturday. The Rattlers are not eligible for the MEAC Tournament, but they are tied with North Carolina Central, North Carolina A&T and Norfolk State for the most wins in conference play this season.

FAMU is paced by sophomore MJ Randolph. Randolph is the reigning MEAC Rookie of the Year and is currently in the top 15 in the conference in points, rebounds, assists and steals.

The matchup can be seen on Facebook Live at Eastern Shore Hawks with Will DeBoer and former Hawk coach Frankie Allen on the call. Coverage will begin after the conclusion of the women's game between the Hawks and Rattlers.

After their game with Florida A&M, Maryland Eastern Shore will travel to North Carolina to face North Carolina Central (Feb. 22) and North Carolina A&T (Feb. 24).
