FLUSHING MEADOWS, New York — The University of Maryland Eastern Shore women's tennis team fell in the first two matches of the season this past weekend (Feb. 22-23) in New York.
They dropped a match 6-1 to St. Francis Brooklyn on Saturday (Feb. 22) and the Hawks were defeated 7-0 against Eastern Michigan on Sunday (Feb. 23).
Freshman Lauren Williamson (Chicago, Illinois) won her first singles match in a Hawks uniform against St. Francis Brooklyn's Dea Lako in three sets. The scores were 6-1, 5-7 and 6-2.
Maryland Eastern Shore will be off until March 18 when they take Elon University.
