ROCKVILLE, Maryland — The University of Maryland Eastern Shore men's golf team had a sixth place finish this past weekend (October 16-18) in the Howard Bison Invitational at Woodmont Country Club.
The Hawks had four golfers complete the event. The invitational was three rounds and the team score was 333+321+329=983.
Junior Thabang Moephuli had the best showing for the team. He finished tied for 13th after shooting 81+74+80=235 (+19) for the tournament. Moephuli's 74 in the second round was Eastern Shore's best individual round of the event.
A trio of freshmen, Logan Kiley, E Brooks and Michael Davis, were the other members of the squad that completed the invitational. Kiley finished with a 242 (+26), Brooks followed with a 245 (+29) and Davis completed the tournament with a 261 (+45).
The Shore will be back on the course next week (October 26-27) in their home tournament, the Maryland Eastern Shore Collegiate Golf Challenge. The event will take place at the Ocean City Golf Club in Berlin.
