PRINCESS ANNE, Maryland — The University of Maryland Eastern Shore men's basketball team will take on the Norfolk State University Spartans for the second time this season on Saturday (February 12) in Norfolk, Virginia. The game will tip at approximately 6 p.m. following the conclusion of the women's game between the Hawks and Spartans.
The Shore (8-10, 3-4 MEAC) is coming off a 58-50 win over Delaware State on Wednesday (February 9). Seniors Nathaniel Pollard, Jr. and Zion Styles led the way offensively with 14 and 13 points respectively against the Hornets.
Saturday's game marks the beginning of the second half of the MEAC season for Eastern Shore. The Hawks fell to NSU 72-58 in the two teams' first matchup back on January 17 inside the Hytche Center. That game was tied at 34 at halftime, but Maryland Eastern Shore struggled from the field in the second half en route to the Spartans victory.
Norfolk State (15-5, 6-1 MEAC) comes into Saturday's contest after 12 days away from competition. In their last game on January 31, they suffered their only loss during MEAC play at the hands of North Carolina Central. They fell 70-67 at NC Central.
Eastern Shore returns home for a game with Howard on Valentine's Day after their game with Norfolk State. The game versus HU will be at 7 p.m.
